Welcome to Greta's Greens! Over the years we've planted outdoor gardens with mixed results. However in early 2020 we began to make big plans to become more self sufficient by growing more of our own food. Our starting point was a backyard bmx track! Since our kids loved racing bikes so much we gave up our backyard paradise for a few years. When the pandemic started we knew it was time to convert the pump track into a big garden with raised beds and a little patch of grass. By the end of 2021 we had two relatively productive growing seasons behind. Winter 2021 was approaching quicklybut we weren't ready to stop growing. We  began to experiment with growing lettuce under lights in our basement. In time we had nearly 70 healthy lettuce plants growing. Each week we could cut the big leaves off a few trays and enjoy fresh salads in the middle of winter. It was amazing! In the early spring of 2022 we started to learn about something called "microgreens".

We bought a few trays and some seeds and began to make mistakes but eventually we had a very healthy tray of broccoli and then we grew peas. We wanted to share the greens we were enjoying our neighbors and Greta's Greens was born. We've attended nearly ever farmers market of 2022 in Eagle Mountain and met lot's of amazing friends in the process. We're still learning about the amazing health benefits of microgreens but we know we're on to something good because we feel great eating them and we know they are pure food. In a world of ever increasing food insecurity, food desertification, and food frauds it is a joy to provide our neighbors with a healthy and flavorful food option.
